Chris Hadfield is a Canadian astronaut, engineer, and author best known for his work with the Canadian Space Agency and for commanding the International Space Station. Born in 1959 in Sarnia, he became the first Canadian to walk in space and later served as commander of Expedition 35 aboard the ISS.

Before his astronaut career, Hadfield was a fighter pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force and a test pilot. He gained worldwide popularity for sharing life in space through videos and social media, including his famous cover of David Bowie’s Space Oddity recorded aboard the ISS.

After retiring from NASA, Hadfield became a public speaker and author, writing books such as An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth, where he reflects on discipline, fear, and achieving goals.
