Lars Jansson was a Finnish writer, cartoonist, and illustrator best known for continuing the beloved Moomin comic strip created by his sister, Tove Jansson. Born in 1926 in Helsinki, he was part of a highly artistic family and collaborated closely with his sister on various creative projects.

After Tove Jansson stepped back from the daily comic strip, Lars took over writing and illustrating the Moomin series, helping to expand its international popularity. In addition to his work on Moomin, he was also a novelist and translator, contributing to Finnish literature beyond the world of the Moomins.
